Opera 7.50 available

What about Java issues though? I've been using Opera since 5.XX, but sometimes it has problems with sites that have Java. I did get the Java bundled one. Maybe I should upgrade the Java?
Using dial-up though and its like 13mb or so.

yah, try java 1.3 or 1.4. I know java 1.5beta doesn't work with opera.

It is by far the best browser, as said above. I use it on linux, while all my other family members use it on windows.

Only thing i can warn people about is that it might seem a little overwhelming with the options it has compared to IE, so the learning curve is longer..But stick with it and learn it. You won't go back.

Here is a pic for the new beta browser:

I have also paid for and upgraded several versions of Opera down through the years. but clicking on the link furnished by ironk reveals a true cross between IE & Mozilla (formerly known as Netscrape<sic>).
Overall, three thumbs-up!
😀😀😀

ofcourse you can get rid of that bar on the left hand side if you wanted to. Thats just there by default in the pic so you can see all of the options, etc.

Where's the deal? ...it's always free. The Software forum was the place to post it once.

So if I use Opera does that mean I could disregard all those IE security vulnerablity issues forever more?

Almost all IE hacks will not work in opera. I bought opera awhile back as a student license and have never looked back.

Firefox is at least as good - and it's free as in FREE not as in "internet free" - so why exactly is this hot?

Firefox has serious memory leak when you try to load webpages with more than a few medium size pictures. It just hangs itself. And it's not as fast as IE. I was using Firefox for a few months, than switch back to IE. Much better.

What I love about 7.50 is they finally made it so the navigation buttons are alongside the address bar. Good stuff. I paid for it so no ads here.

firefox on osx here, should i switch? last i checked opera was ugly :X

'sides, i like the firefox icon on my dock much better than an opera one

pretty cool. I didn't know about that utility.

FireFox always seemed ugliest to me out of all of them in linux. Maybe its different in OsX.
