OpenOffice 1.0 Versus StarOffice 5.2

use open office...each of the apps can be launched individualy...gets rid of that dumb desktop system thingy.
 
At first, I really liked StarOffice: I mean, a free office suite that has MS Office compatibility? After some more extensive use however, I have found that it consistently massacred the formatting when outputting to MS Word format. Considering that pretty much everyone uses MS, this was too much of a problem, I broke down and bought Office XP. I haven't trued OpenOffice though, maybe it's better 🙂

OpenOffice is MUCH better than StarOffice 5.2 for opening/saving MS format files.
