Objective : to be able to authenticate to a windows 2003 server by using a linux desktop system, im using FEDORA. Instead of using windows based client desktops , im using linux instead. So i want to be able to login without having to store login information on the desktop. Windows 2003 server will store the passwords and my clients will log into a linux client desktop.

Question: im a noob , have some experience with linux , tried googliing for howtos , but cant understand some howtos.

so i can access the active directory services , like a shared printer, DHCP, shared drives and ect if i was loggin in using windows , i know i might need to do some tweaking but give me some info , i dont want to just be able to log but access some of the resources . So once i setup this , i should be able to access all the services in the active directory??

With SMBFS you can mount SMB shares. Linux does DHCP just fine ( 😕 ). I'm not sure about the printers, but Samba or CUPs might be necessary.
