Opening up an xbox..

My xbox is running louder and louder and the cd drive takes a few trys to open up...

So common sense tells one to look for anything to unscrew.. ofcourse nothing.


Is there anyway to get inside one without ruining the case?

Yeah, on the bottom theres 8 screws I think, Torx 10 or Torx 20 screwdrivers, some are under the labels. Just screw em off and lift it up.

yea there are a couple under the labels and under the rubber pads in the corners

There are 6 total, 4 under the rubber pads/feet, and 2 under the stickers (should be able to tell where they are by a slight indention on the sticker (or try pressing down lightly on the sticker to find them). And they are torx 20 I believe.

Once you open it up, you'll need torx 10 for all the other screws.

Just remember, once you open it up, the warranty is voided.

Yeah.. but I needed to return a game and the drive wouldnt open 😀
