May need a little more info here. Are you using any software/hardware Firewalls? Have you tried disabling Windows builtin Firewall to test to see if that is causing the block?
Are you using a router?

I'm guessing this is your home pc?

Computer ports are always open ( http://www.ezlan.net/faq#ports ).

What close the ports are security measures like Routers and software Firewall.

You need to know what ports your game needs, and how to open it in YOUR Firewall or and YOUR Router.

Since we lost our magic powers last week we can not Guess.;)

1. Which Game?
2. Software Firewall?
3. Router?

I think i got it working,(Farcry), from what i have read, many people have had problems with this game connecting to the internet. I dont think I will have to open any ports right now. Thanks. And by the way, this is a home pc.

My specs

A8V deluxe socket 939
AMD 3000
GeForce Fx 5700le

This was my first computer build, i am quite happy for how much i paid for it.:)
