Opening photo folders

When I open a folder containing my photos, I want them to open to the thumbnail view. However, depending on what folder I open, they open in different views. Some folders open into thumbnail, some in list, some in filmstrip...just depends on what folder I open.

Is there a way I can set it to open all photo folders into the thumbnail view?

Irfanview -
3.98

That way, when you want to open explorer for files, you do.
When you want photos, you just open irfan explorer.......
yumyum

i don't know of a way to ubiquitously change all photo folders

windows xp has a folder customization feature (in explorer, right click on the folder and choose customize) and it allows you to change the template (optionally including all subdirectories). so if they are all under one directory tree then it would be very easy, otherwise you will have to go to each folder and change these options.

You can also go to Folder Options>View tab and click Apply To All Folders while ur in a pictures folder that is currently using thumbs. Then when you open folders and dont want thumbs, just change each folder to the view you want. They usually(usually) remember the last view.
