OpenGL Drivers-- What gives?

I have a Compaq 14XL345 laptop. It has a Trident Cyberblade i7 3D accelerator. In Windows ME, which came preloaded with the laptop, I have hardware 3D acceleration. I just loaded Windows 2000, and managed to get all the appropriate drivers. I could not, however, get hardware 3D acceleration to work. This video card is fully WHQL certified. Whats the deal?
