Opened my tablet PC, LCD stops working

I opened my Progear Tablet to get to the hard drive so I can change the OS. Now, the LCD seems to be completely dead. The Cold Cathode doesn't light up. Nothing shows up on the screen. The hard drive spins up when powered on. The connections for both the Cold Cathode and the display are connected properly. Can anyone help?
