Currently, I'm only using it as a firewall.
Used to have a box running some mail as well, but I've "outsourced" that these days

As for why, well, PF owns, IPTables sucks imo

Plus I love the documentation, stuff I don't know how to do is easily learned thanks to it.
And there's pretty much no messing around with it, install, configure PF, good to go, install a patch once in a blue moon.
For desktop or web server use I sorta prefer Debian though, mostly since I love APT when the time comes to install all kinds of Apache modules, etc
