Open With...

I just installed Photoshop CS2 and I want to open a picture using the Open With... option. I click Choose Program, go to the directory with PS:CS2 and click on the EXE file. Nothing happens and it's still not listed in the list to Open With.

Is there any way to fix this? I use to be able to do it with Photoshop 7 fine.

The extension (or file type) of the picture you are trying to open could already have been associated with other application.

Try Windows Explorer -> Tools -> Folder Options -> File Types (surf through the picture file extension and Delete association).

After you open an unassociated file type by manually selecting .exe (even you don't click 'always use this progarm checkbox'), windows should list that application (Photoshop) in 'open with' next time.

Thats the problem will. It doesn't display it in the list of programs even after I click it.

Ok got it. I had to trick my computer! I repaired the installation of CS2 and chose all JPG files to open with that program. Then I just changed it back over to the Windows viewer (I like for quick viewing). I usually just use photoshop to adjust pictures so it's easier to right click then open with.
