I have $2,000 -- $2,500 to build a high end gaming PC.....that has to include a mouse and keyboard and monitor....

I already have a case for all this...

Have at it...

It has been almost 8 years since I have built my own PC!!

I most play FPS....

Thank You!!

There are tons of threads on gaming PC builds.
Why wouldn't that information apply in your situation?

Take mfenn's $1000 build. Bump up the PSU to a Seasonic X750 (basically best in class) and get a second 7970. Switch the case to the Antec 1100. You'll want a new case if your case is more than 6 or so years old just because fans have gotten larger and quieter and front panel USB3.0 is handy. Buy a Corsair K90 keyboard and Logitech G400 mouse. Round off the build with a Lightboost capable 120Hz monitor. This eliminates motion blur, which is helpful for first person shooters.

Monitor choice is something you'll have to consider whether you want 120hz aimed for gaming or IPS for better colors and possible higher resolution.
