Did you ever get that box that pops up and asks you what you want to open a program up with? It gives you a list to select from. I picked the wrong one on the list to open my program up. Now everytime I go to use this certain program it keeps defaulting to my original incorrect selection. How do I stop this? Is there a way to get that OPEN PROGRAM UP WITH box to pop up again so I can make a different selection? I think I have picked Explorer in the past to open up with and it worked. Need help on this one!

There should be a checkbox in the the "Open With" box that says "Always use this program to open this file.". Uncheck it so that doesn't happen again. ;)

You can go to "Explorer">>"Tools">>"Folder Options">>"File Types" and choose the file type that you want to add, edit, or delete the default program to open with.

Alternatively, you can shift-leftclick the file and select "Open With" and choose the correct program.

Hope that helps.

I was going to say the same as AC, but one little correction...

shift-rightclick not shift-leftclick

Good Luck.

ok But how do I do this in 2000Pro. I have an exe that keeps trying to open in Adobe and of course it cannot.A friend of mine told it to use Adobe for some unknown reason and it will open on its own if Adobe is un-installed but as soon as you put adobe back in it grabs it and won't open the file..........thanks
