Open Office - 'Calc' (Excel alternative) software question

While Open Office has come a LONG LONG way in just the past 2-3 years, it still doesn't seem to be as polished as MS (sadly).

Here's one example / tip if you don't already know this: In Excel you can hit ALT+ENTER in a cell while editing text, in order to insert a carriage return 'within' the cell text. Quite helpful depending on the purpose of that spreadsheet!

Question: Can you insert a similar carriage return with Open Office (Calc software - open-source Excel counterpart)? If so, what's the Open Office keyboard shortcut?

This is one of the key features I'm looking for in Calc, to make it meaningful for the type of stuff I use Calc for.

In OO, the keyboard shortcuts for ALT+ENTER and CTRL+ENTER are reversed from what you are used to in Excel.

ALT+ENTER closes the editing of that cell without moving to the next cell (CTRL+ENTER in Excel)
CTRL+ENTER adds a carriage return to the current cell (ALT+ENTER in Excel).

Hi,
I can't get the solution above to work (CTRL+Enter = carriage return in cell).

I am using Windows Vista, would that make any difference? I've been looking for an answer to this problem for ages, any other suggestions?
