Open Office 2 vs Microsoft Office 97

I can either go with my old version of MS office, or I can go with the new version of open office. Or could install both, but I will still likely end up using one and sticking with it. Is OO good enough, or at least better then my old version of MS office?

i'm using OO from ms office 03. its quite worth the switch over imo. try oo for a bit and give it a go. you'll like it.

There's no price or penalty for trying O so why not just install it and see if you like it?

I like OO. If nothing else give it a try. I hear iffy things about it and spreadsheets but I've had absolutely no issues.

Only issue I've seen is load times for decent sized spreadsheets.

i would imagine that the latest OO would be more compatible with today's stuff than Office97.

even if it runs slower than 97, I would probably use OO over it.
