With the next generation of ONFI 3.0 and EZNAND on the way, would it be wise to wait for it to come out before buying an SSD or is this a Firmware upgradable thing?

I thought controllers are just now starting to take advantage of ONFI 2.0. I wouldn't bother with the wait game. SSDs are already ridiculously fast compared to spindle disks.

I'm pretty sure Intel x25 drives just use ONFI 1.0, look at how fast they are.

The only thing you could possibly wait for is $/gb.
