What do you guys think? It's certainly a bit underpowered compared to modern flagships, but the cost is a bit lower. It comes with Android and an open "special interface". The features:

  • Mediatek 6589 quad-core CPU
  • 4.3-inch qHD display
  • 8-megapixel camera
  • 16GB storage
  • dual-band SIM (GSM850/900/1800/1900MHZ, WCDMA 900/2100MHz)
  • user-replaceable battery
  • microSD card slot
Seems kind of tempting, though the GSM/WCDMA only could be problematic, as could the skinning.

The Mediatek 6589 is a quad A7 running at 1GHz. Each of those cores is like a 700MHz A9. That's giving up a lot.

Wonder how much RAM it has. If it's 2GB then it might be somewhat interesting but $400 is a high price tag.
