im currently looking at a motherboard on newegg that is a Open Box item. Does it just come with the motherboard itself and absolutely nothing or do they at least include the i/o panel?

I got a cheap shuttle mobo a few months back open box and it had the i/o plate.

No paperwork though.

OK, seriously, why the hell are you asking us?
Why dont you ask them?

If you're worried, dont get it. I dont trust open box myself. All the headaches are not worth saving a few bucks.

With open box from Newegg, you probably will get the backplate, but I wouldn't count on it. You can call them and ask, but if the backplate is a deal breaker, I would pass on the purchase.

I wouldn't go open box on a motherboard... that component is true crucial to go with the higher likelihood of getting a defective product or that certain things will be missing (I/O plate, extra cables, etc.)

I didn't get the I/O plate with the open box motherboard I got from newegg. Not that it really mattered since it was DOA.

Personally, I wouldn't buy anything used that can be overclocked. You never know what's it's been through. That includes New Egg and here.
I learned my lesson the hard way with a video card.

Everything I buy is 'open box' about five minutes after I get home.

Except when it comes previously opened, it means some other nerd has had their geeky, greasy hands on it before you have.
