Yes, it's really sad when a Newegg-sold REFURB card ... costs MSRP of a new card. But that's where we are today. Any "New" GTX 1660 / Super / Ti cards, are ostensibly priced @ $400 or so... :( :( :(

So this is (relative to the overall market) kind of at least a warm deal.

Btw, I've bought several REFURB GTX 1660 ti cards from Newegg (factory refurb) both Gigabyte and MSI, and not had any issues with them, so I wouldn't worry so much about them being refurbs.

Man I am so glad my GTX-980 is still (barely) sufficient for what I play...
would hate to be in a position where I needed a GPU asap right now!

Having said that I agree about "factory" refurbs usually being a safe bet.

:)

OTOH, the current GPU climate, would be probably fairly ideal to "unload" any GTX 9xx-series cards... and hopefully pick up a newer one, new, at MSRP if lucky.

But I can definitely see the impetus to hold on to it.

Yeah I know what you mean .... the "best" GPU deal I've seen recently was an XFX 8GB mildly overclocked 5700XT for $500 plus shipping from a 3rd-party Amazon seller.

Interestingly EVGA just replaced a 2gb GTX-950 (under a "grandfathered lifetime-warranty" stemming from my original 8800GTX) with a 4gb GTX-1650 which I COULD use as a stop-gap GPU but the 980 still kicks it's butt @ 1440p.
