SAPPHIRE Radeon R9 290 4GB 512-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card
= $229.99
- $20 MIR (Limit 1 per household, expires December 31, 2015 & must be post-marked within 30 days of purchase)
= $209.99
Videocard Length: 10.9 inches (~27.7 cm)
If you can get past the fact that this card was designed to run at 94-95C and you game with closed headphones/speakers turned up loud (i.e., do not mind how loud this card would be), then this is THE best bang for the buck among all the 960/380/380X/280X cards for 1080p and 1440p gaming.
And for 1440P, the value is straight up unbeatable.
290 is ~7-10% slower than a 290X:
Not a bad $210 stop-gap over the next 18-20 months while the 14nm/16nm GPU price wars get underway.
