the 80mm fan on the CPU is literally held there by gravity. Its just sitting on top of the alpha p7125. I have 2 thin strips of cardboard on the sides to raise it ~1mm above the heatsink - I've noticed that it drastically lowers noise and lowers temps a little. the 120mm fan next to the video card is just sitting on top of the next 2 pci slots. It runs at 7v and is absolutely silent. the card itself has a socket7 heatsink on it ;) The 120mm fan on my desk is usually turned to point at me because the dorm room gets pretty hot :D

How'd you ever manage to knock off those caps?
Have you ever removed/replaced the heat plate on a slot athlon? the clips are REALLY difficult to use (if you haven't tried, its hard to imagine). It takes a lot of force. I slipped with a screwdriver, and in one swift motion sent 4 of the caps into the aether (or maybe my carpet... they're really small and I never found them). ;)
