How so?

Are you the kid who thought that 'Australian' was a race? :laugh:

Anyways, Australia seems to be infected with these types of problems. Maybe it has something to do with their concentration camps.

If you've ever bothered to check up on it, racism includes discriminating against someone on the grounds of their race OR nationality, n00blet ;)

'the United Nations uses a definition of racist discrimination, laid out in the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination and adopted in 1965:

"any distinction, exclusion, restriction or preference based on race, colour, descent, or national or ethnic origin which has the purpose or effect of nullifying or impairing the recognition, enjoyment or exercise, on an equal footing, of human rights and fundamental freedoms in the political, economic, social, cultural or any other field of public life." I honestly think sht like that holds other races back. "Mail order bride?!?, oh no lets put down WoW for 5 seconds and protest". Then the opponent pretends to care and plays on the minorities insecurities to help himself politically.

That said, the guy was an asshole for calling her a mail order bride. She's probably loved him a long time.

The UN is not an authority on the definition racism. However, I'm not sure how I'm racist against Australians in any case.

I agree our Immigration detention centres are less than an ideal solution to how to process all asylum seekers. But I do agree it's necessary to have some system to sort the genuine refugees from your average illegal immigrant.

On topic;
John Brogden was THE rising star in the Liberal Party. He really threw away a potentially long and successful career, by being a childish dumbarse after 6 beers.

Bob Carr has been a popular leader for a long term, and to slag off his educated, classy wife as a mail order bride, Brogden had no future. Wonder what his wife said to him after this. Not only did he cost himself a guaranteed salary/ retirement package, he pinched the backside of a couple of journos.

Well technically the definition came out of the "International Convention on the Elimination of All forms of Racial Discrimination." Also, where does your definition for the word "racism" come from and why do you use it? The obvious point of the convention was to establish a universal definition for the word and according to its usage you're very wrong and very ignorant.

My definition comes from this magical place called the 'dictionary'.

He was drunk.....

Just to note to the confused people, the guy who has the Asian wife did not call his wife a "mail order bride". A different guy did.

Quick update;

Brogden tried to off himself ,apparently, last night. Pills and Booze. Didn't work though he's in a satisfactory condition in hospital.
