Discussion OOPS - Used air duster to clean coffee grinder

I have a high end grinder I got lightly used, and was cleaning it out. I blew a few blasts of Memorex compressed air into the top of the unit.

My concerns after this were:

(A) is this sort of compressed air meant for electronics safe to use on food equipment? I understand it's got chemicals in it so I shouldn’t have, but I’m wondering about risks now (or how long until it’s completely evaporated).

(B)I understand they've added bitterants to the air, will this impact the taste of my coffee?

If either of these is the case, is there a way I can remedy this? Ie let the unit breathe for a few days prior to use, or clean with rubbing alcohol, or run some beans through it to get rid of the bitterant?

Bummed as this an expensive grinder to be used with good coffee, and not wanting to ruin the taste or more importantly cause a safety hazard.

thanks for the help!

The bitterants might affect the taste but it might clear up. I think most of the chemicals do evaporate, even the bitterant so I would let it sit and see.

Should use air compressor next time. Never been a fan of canned air even for computers though always felt it was so wasteful.

I used to use the canned air because it was convenient and I lived in a little apartment, once I had more space and a house and got a cheap little pancake compressor I've never looked back. Feel so much better about not wasting cans and it works so much better.

I use a rechargeable yard broom.

I had to Google "rechargeable yard broom."

It's electric, that's instant man points!
I have an even more manly ECHO 2 stroke, but it would make the PCs smell. Besides, that thing can probably blow the caps and VRM cooling off a board.

I am cleaning out my computer case full of too many years of dust for a new gut replacement. Use a leaf blower 😀
