I see Newegg's listing the P180B now. So evidently Antec has started mass-marketing the black one. Must... begin... rationalization process! :Q

Do these cases go down in price or they stay at the same range over an extended period of time. I am building in a month and the sticker shock of new parts and a case is bothering me. I guess if I buy the case now it doesnt seem like I am spening a ton in a month. Is that weird that I am thinking that way? Case is sweet though.

highly anticipated product plus popularity over a period of time does not help its sticker price to come down anytime soon especially within your timeline of only a month.

It was an SPCR brand (black with silver SPCR logo on front) from August till the middle of this April. At the time, the only places that sold it were endpcnoise and frontierpc. There was reportedly a place in Britain that sold it as well, but those were the only vendors who were supposed to sell it.

I bought one of the SPCR "specials" and it does seem different than the others I have in several ways. The front door is the better quality but also the side doors seem heavier and it seems quieter than the others.........

As far as i know there were no differences other than colour and the logo between the SPCR version and the normal silver one. Never heard anything at all about side pannel differences. My SPCR door looks closer to the orriginal door than the improved model it's definitly plastic on the inner surface, is the improved one aluminium then?

If memory serves there was a SPCR version (with a small kickback to SPCR) for a year in black, but after that then antec would just sell them in both shades at the same price.

Also it was very easy to find the SPCR model in the UK, there were at least five major retailers selling them when i got mine.

The front door that Antec sent me to correct the warping issue was inner lined as shown in the first pic. It added weight and a more solid feel for sure. From what I can tell in the Newegg pic, that same door is shipping on the black model.

For any looking to buy the silver model, I'd see if it ships with the improved door. It's a nice improvement. Solves the warping issue, and prolly helps dampen noise a tad more...
