I love Logitech but do people really want more than one wheel? I haven't even broken out my MX1000 yet; my room is too messy.

I have the laptop version of this mouse - the VX Revolution.
Picked it up from CompUSA about a week ago after being completely fed up with my microsoft mouse.

So far, I've been very happy with it.
the tracking is amazing, and the reception is excellent. (take this with a grain of salt though - it's coming from someone who's been using those cheap $20 mice for the last 2 years)

The mouse (VX at least) is very comfortable to hold and use. The shape and size fits my hand near perfectly, although I do have a rather small handprint. It glides very easily over a wooden table, and is farily light (almost too light for my tastes).

I haven't been able to test battery life extensively yet (only had it for a week), but so far, the battery meter still shows full charge (from a single AA) under heavy usage daily (6 to 8 hours everyday)

My con's so far are that:
1) the main buttons and wheel, when in 'click' mode are loud. It's not that big of a deal when I'm using it at home, but when Im over at the library...
2) The wheel, when in 'click' mode, has a very low resistance - you'll be hard pressed to just scroll it '1 click' usually I end up scrolling 3 clicks or so. Even in click mode, if you flick your finger on the wheel, you can cause it to spin freely for about 1 second.
3) The switch to change the mode of the wheel is hard to get to (it's under the mouse, and is a sliding switch, requires you to really dig your finger into the mouse to change it)
4) The middle button is hard to press without causing the wheel to move to the side, causing a horiztonal scroll.

Overall, I think the new wheel thing is overrated. I leave it in 'click mode' 99% of the time, and just use it like a normal scroll wheel.

Let me know if you guys have any questions

I saw one in Staples the other day. They had the display model out. I put my hand on it and it felt great. $99 price tag though :( I definetly want one, but Im gonna wait until the price drops a bit or it goes on sale. Until then, Im happy with my MS Wireless Intellimouse Explorer

It looks like it's another $20 for the thumb wheel! :Q

VX is for laptops. The MX also comes with a charger and is a little bigger.
