I hate 3D. Hate it hate it hate it hate it. This is the dumbest technology "innovation" in a long time. I don't want it in my movies, I certainly don't want it on my TV, and I absolutely don't want it on my cell phone.

Looks like a mobile version of Compwiz, eye candy is nice but a slick UI like this on my Android phone paired with the amaturish UI's on most apps in the Market would kill my user experience.

I hate 3D. Watching movies in 3D makes it worse and I can only imagine how it'll be with a cellphone. The early hands on with the Nintendo 3DS say if you move your head slightly off center you lose the 3D effect and it darkens the image but not as much as with 3D glasses. You basically can't see the 3D effect if you're walking at all cus it'll be almost impossible to keep the image steady while walking.

So if I get a phone in Jan, it won't be out, and if I want it it, I have to wait until it comes out then upgrade by paying moar?

Fffuuuu phone market.

rule #1 of electronics:
There will always be something better than comes out in a few months for less money.

I don't think it's bad tech by any means, but I think it's ahead of it's time by a few years. Once we have passive, glasses free 3D I'll be more inclined.

If you were a true nerd you'd want a phone with a CLI where you had to write your own script just to make it dial a number.

I'm attempting to teach myself Java right now.

While I am learning...I don't think my Hello World program makes me qualified to write scripts.

That being said...another thing I don't like about my Vibrant is that terminal emulator doesn't work. No more SU on my phone :(

Nerd chubby? Over a fad from the 70s that came back?
Really? You think that the 1970s 3D experience (Jaws 3D?*) is anything like modern 3D (Avatar)? Maybe you live in a small town with crappy theaters.

I do think that a "3D phone" will suck.

*Jaws 3D is 1983 but its the first real 3D movie that I can think of

Er you don't need the terminal emulator to get root access... The terminal is just a shell for interacting with the kernel (just like the standard Android UI). Is there something you "NEED" the terminal emulator for? Idk about the Vibrant, but you should be able to use ADB to run anything you want in the terminal.

Modern 3D still sucks horribly.
