OOOH OOOH GOT ANOTHER QUESTION TOO!!

just thought of this too!! i try to run scandisc and defragger in my pc at home (win98), after shutting down all programs via ctrl alt delete, still have problems with proggies running in the background. restart in safe mode, STILL get the same problem. no viruseses on my computer, why oh why won't it work? figger it must be a TNT program, but how kind i find it/kill it?? thanks again peeps.

just wonderin'... i'd like to put notepad on my startup bar at work. my pc uses windows nt4/ preferably under the accessories menu. also, my pc has user profiles. i might be blocked, 'cause i haven't been able to do this so far....any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance!!!

Start-->run-->type in "msconfig"-->go to startup-->uncheck all the unessential programs and reboot.

I didn't mean to drag from within the menu as you normally would, but to do from Windows Explorer within this path:
C:\Winnt\Profiles\<user name>\

Dig in there and you'll see your Startup folder. If you go to \All Users\ and drag the Notepad from there to your Startup folder, you should see Notepad next time you log in.

Make a boot disk and do your disk checks and defrags from a fresh boot to floppy.
