Out of stock, and last round of orders cancelled. Glad at least some of you got in on the deal! I can't believe i was coherent enough to post it so early.

Outpost.com

Bundle includes the Kodak Advantix C800 APS Camera (3x Zoom), a camera strap, a camera case, 1 roll of Kodak Advantix Color film, 1 roll of Kodak Advantix Black & White film and a 3-Volt battery.

Amazon has the same camera for $215, without the bundle. Camera isn't listed on pricegrabber. There is a rebate listed on amazon's site, but it specifies a 50, 100, or 200 minimum purchase. Enjoy!

This is a hot deal! I bought this kit from buy.com last month when it was $69.95 (shipping was $10.70...ouch!). Since it does retail for over $200, I sent the rebate form in with the $75 rebate box checked (the rebate form says $75 rebate for Advantix cameras retailing for over $200, $50 for those retailing between $100 - $199.99, and $25 for $50 - $99.99). Since I only mailed the form in on 27 June, I haven't received the rebate back yet, but I'm assuming I'll be getting a $75 check from Kodak; so with this deal you'd actually be making $35 (minus the shipping cost from Outpost.com). I don't see this camera advertised as refurbished or anything, so it should qualify just fine. By the way, the rebate form says "limit 3 rebates per household, group, address or organization", so I may buy this from Outpost.com and submit again!!!

Damn I forgot Outpost.com no longer belongs to eBates.com so there goes my 5% rebate.

Just ordered with overnight shipping which was $2 more than 2nd day, overnight was $9.72.

Thanks!

Where can I find the rebate form? In the box? Linked anywhere? Thanks!

UPDATE: I found a link on Amazon, but Amazon is advertising only the $25 rebate - what's up with that??

Link

Still a great deal..

Wait a minute - the rebate form says to include a copy of the original invoice or packing slip showing camera purchase... Which means I think that, for a price of $39.99 at Outpost, this wouldn't qualify for a rebate.

So, is this deal alive or not?

I believe this deal has no rebate, govikes was referring to his purchase from buy.com and not this deal which is from outpost.com

If only that were the case, it's still possible but I highly doubt it. Regardless I ordered one, it's a great deal considering everything you're getting.

Specifications:
Lens:
27 - 80 mm zoom lens;
6-element glass aspheric construction
Aperture:
f/5.6-f/11.6 wide; f/8.6-f/16 tele

IMHO this lens is very slow lens. This camera would be most suitable for outdoor use and indoor use for a short distance with a flash. Unless you use fast film like 400 and up.

I'm in for one - ordered it this morning when the post first went up. I see now it says "Call for availability", 2 hours later.

I don't care how good a camera this is. The wife refuses to use my Minolta Maxxums, so this beats her buying disposables all the time.

I own a Fuji Finepix 1400 digicam and my wife owns a Kodak DX3700 digicam, she wants a non-digital camera so this was perfect!

No where on the rebate form does it say, "must be purchased from Amazon.com" and it does specify the $25/$50/$75 amounts. Purchase must be made by 7/31/2002.

except you have to meet the qualifying price. If the camera were $50-99 it would be elligable for the $25 MIR, but @ $40 it is not. Only way to squeeze the rebate I can think of is to use buy from amazon or the like, use the BVG from your CC, and mail in the rebate. Too much trouble for $25 IMO, but if you're game go for it ;)

Bah, deal is dead. I called Outpost and they said it was on backorder and they cancelled it. Website still lets you add it to your cart though, but on that page it says "Call for Availability".

people who shoot APS probably don't know or care about the specs of the lens... If people did, everyone would use a SLR, or at least a Yashica T4.

SinnerWolf,
The rebate form says RETAIL price, not necessarily the price you paid for the item. This camera does retail for over $200 so it should qualify for the $75 rebate. In fact, before I sent my rebate form in last month, I called Kodak to verify that the retail is above the $200 amount (which they did) and when I mailed the rebate form in, I included a printout of a page from a site called "The Graphics Zone" which showed their selling price of $230 and the retail cost being $249.00. This I did just to prove the advertised retail price.

excellent point. I was going to send in the rebate anyhow, a "just in case" measure. I still seriously doubt they will honor the MIR because the fine print mentions the qualifying price excluding taxes or other additional charges, and they ask you to circle the purchase price. But no harm no foul.

q2261,
This camera takes APS film only, not 35mm. APS film has really come down in price, however; you can get a 3-pack of Fuji 25 exposure APS film at Wal-Mart for $6.10.

dgodwin,
While I agree APS prints are not nearly as good as a 35mm print, these cameras are so easy to use and offer such a variety of options at a low price that they are well suited for novice shooters or those not overly concerned with "professional" results. I've bought a half-dozen APS cameras in the past year and given them to relatives as gifts (my mother, my mother-in-law, my daughter, a niece, and I still have the C800 and an Elph2 in my "gift closet" -- plus I did order this C800 this morning! I know, I have a problem!).
