The Globe and Mail

AFAIK this means that other provinces will launch similar challenges, and then there'll be a final showdown at the Supreme Court of Canada in a number of years.

LEGAL: Hiring drivers, bodyguards and support staff
LEGAL: Working in organized brothels or “bawdy houses”
ILLEGAL: “Exploitation” of sex workers by pimps
ILLEGAL: Openly soliciting customers on the street

IMO, while prostitution isn't ideal, it is a fact of life and will exist whether legal or not. We might as well make it as safe as possible for those who do it.

Prostitution should in no way be illegal, provided it is a choice that an adult freely makes for themselves (no pimps).

It is a transaction between two or more consenting adults that, if conducted in a private place that the adults either own/rent or are otherwise permitted to be in, the government has no business regulating or restricting in any way.

Oh, and ATOT road trip?!?!?!

THis like drugs never do em' but people should be free to do them. Hate these consensual crimes 'for your own good' seatbelt too.

their method of legalization is so they can tax it it seems.Organized corporate. No sole proprietorship out of your house or anything. Women will get fucked twice.

What's more important than taxing it is being able to regulate it. At least there's room for some quality control in terms of STD's and brothel standards.

It's considered "immoral" / unhealthy like cigarettes and alcohol so you shouldn't be surprised it's taxed. I mean, every legal job is taxed so why should brothels be any different?

Prostitution has been legal in many areas of Nevada for a long time. Finally, Canada is starting to get with the times and pull their morally self-righteous heads out of their holy books.

I have no problem taxing it but way it's setup is girls won't be able to take deductions like a err plumber would and are under someones elses foot. Just a corporate pimp instead of bubba. Like I said fucked twice.

You could achieve same goals you're after by requiring health cards and that's it.

They could definitely set up a sole proprietorship if they wanted. They'd have to float the initial investment and get a bank loan for start up costs. I wonder how that would go over.

Also, being an employed prostitute under labour laws is better than working for a pimp.

Would that prostitution were consensual. I think that if all women grew up with self love, self respect, and a chance to reach their potentials, there would be almost no prostitutes. I think, also, that if men grew up the same, there would be no interest in it.

Of course it should be legal and its the oldest profession that exists.
In fact scientifically it has been proven.
There was this study where they showed and tought chimpanzees the value of money, and guess what the first thing they did was? The males went to the females to give them coins to bang them. lol

Don't book your flights just yet. Legislators have a year to remake the law with better language. Pretty much zero chance this actually becomes law.

Well that's about the only reason that could get me back to Ontario (I lived in Toronto for about 100 years between 1988 and 1990).

Yes. And in Holland, and Australia, and Mexico, and several other countries around the world. But that really doesn't help someone in Ontario, does it? If the nearest brothel is 1,500 miles away, it's not really an option.

Outside of vegas. All of Nevada is legal except a couple counties one of them vegas. But that's no problem you'll find prostitutes at every casino bar especially by sportsbook just hanging out.

I'm kinda a idiot about women, can't even tell when they are flirting, anyway one time my wife got PISSED at me for chatting it up with one of them. I thought she was just making small talk. But no.

I agree government needs to back off. As long as it is between 2 consenting adults who have agreed upon the terms of services being provided and they accept any repercussions for their actions even if they maybe negative or there is not actual criminal exploration then this is a non-issue.
