So I called OnStar to cancel my enrollment. When they asked me why, I told them that since they will be cutting off service to my analog-only OnStar hardware (in Jan 08) I had decided to cancel the service now.

They immediately offered to reduce my monthly payment from $18.31/mo to $12.95/mo! The price is good until they terminate the analog service in Jan 08. (I'm still hoping they offer a hardware upgrade option before then).

I don't know if they will offer this to anyone who tries to cancel or only to analog-only customers.

If you don't know if your OnStar hardware is analog, analog/digital-ready, or digital, you can find out here using your VIN.

It's a hot deal if your an OnStar customer!

holy cow, that's expensive! even for $13 a month that is a bit much. It isn't like you're using all the time..

Umm...I think the point of "Safe & Sound" is to use the service when you need to, like an emergency.

I think this a great deal. I used it a number of times when I got lost. :)
