hi all, i would like some forum input please on the quality of this product

I have recently bought a e350 for my parents ($329) and an i3-2310 ($426) for myself; which i have sold. Both were acer 15.6 with, 4gb, and 500+ 5400 rpm HD. I configured both and played with both for a couple of weeks...

okay for 350+tax i can get this (but only for 2 days):

I dont know samsung build quality at all: anyone have some experience with this or a similar computer?

For what you get; i think its a hell of a deal, but... i would like some more input.

Also, for those in the ~$300.00 market and 15.6 size and weight, i came across this hell-of-a-deal:

Thanks all!

i bought it a on the 14th. it is easy to play around with and customize. currently, i am overclocking AND undervolting with K10stat.

REALLY a great product from Samsung. if anyone is itereseted in a certain bench; please let me know. HOWEVER; (FYI and stuff), i dont check this forum all the time, but i will try to get the bench numbers with over/under clocking too.

Take care all and i can whole-heartily recommend (for 350 like the deal i got) paying up to 450.00 for this laptop. for those that want any kind of gaming this is better than an i5 WITH hd3000 GPU only. im NOT saying IT IS better; just better for me and i think most folks!

Honestly, it will just plane operate better with today's media rich content!

Thanks for the input. I am hoping this will come back at the $350 price ;)
I have a few questions:

What is the model on the hard drive? (Travelstar 5K750, WD scorpio blue 750GB, etc)
It doesn't list eSATA, expresscard or USB 3.0? Is that correct?
Are both memory slots accessible?
What is the battery rating (Wh)?

Thanks

I picked up one for $350.

Battery is a paltry 29Wh. That's how it can be under 3 pounds, but battery life sucks.

No Expresscard slot, no USB 3.0 and no eSATA.

HDD is a Hitachi Z5K320 7mm. Note that the notebook was designed for 7mm drives. Taller 9.5mm can fit if you leave out the rubber drive surround and don't mind a permanent bulge in the notebook.

Hi Alex - And thanks for the information Zap - However, that is not the one i purchased. I purchased the 15.6.

- has a 54Wh batt. (4500mAh * 11.1 - 12.8V) for about ~ 2+ hours of DX11 gaming/windows update/file encryption, 3+ hours of DVD video (downloaded/checked/replied to email then popped in LOTR II DVD and watched the whole movie with a few pauses), i get between 3.5 to 5 hours of websurfing and/or office productivity. all of that at stock settings; i get 10-20% better batt life when undervolting. Stable with P0; 1600MHz at 0.925V, B0 2300MHz at 1.05V. I think i could do better, but havent pushed it anymore.

plays DX11 w/o a hitch!!! gets warm though. this is something you cannot do with HD3000!

-one stick of Samsung 4gb 1333 mem, one slot free.

-Samsung HN-M750MBB SATA Disk with 20+gigs for system restore. 677 split between C and D drive...

will write more later.

take care
