My Mother the Car

My Mother the Car is an American fantasy sitcom which aired for a single season on NBC between September 14, 1965 and September 6, 1966. A total of thirty episodes were produced by United Artists Television.

In 2002, TV Guide proclaimed it to be the second-worst of all time, just behind The Jerry Springer Show.

The plot?

The show follows the exploits of attorney David Crabtree (played by Jerry Van ***), who, while shopping at a used car lot for a station wagon to serve as a second family car, instead purchases a dilapidated 1928 "Porter" touring car. Crabtree heard the car call his name in a woman's voice which turned out to be that of his deceased mother, Gladys (voiced by Ann Sothern). The car, a valuable antique, is a reincarnation of his mother who talks (only to Crabtree, of course) through the car's radio. The dial light flashed in sequence with "Mother's" voice.

I gotta remember this the next time I whine about "Heroes"

At least Heroes has Hayden Panettiere and Ali Larter to look at :p And it has the first season which still rocks.

So much better that Ghost Whisperer.

kind of like that show. I don't have TV, but I've seen it a couple of times at my mother's house. I also like that other paranormal crime show, but I don't remember the name.

Sorry but Cop Rock blows them all away. Horrendous. Think stiff acting, bad writing, poor production values and in the middle of an interrogation break into song and dance. That my friends is Cop Rock.

I remember that show. I thought it was stupid but the older folks liked it. Now that I'm an older folk myself maybe I'll like it?

There are plenty of worse shows than Jerry Springer and My Mother the Car.
Ghost Whisperer is not one of them. It has at least one hot chick that I remember and a couple I dont recall well.

Almost anything on the prime time evening slot these days would qualify as worse than Springer.

I remember Manimal and how awful it was. My friends and I still make fun of it and the word "Manimal" is synonymous with horrific television.

However, I think the "crown" of worst TV show might go to Automan:

After watching that, Manimal looks like Citizen Kane.

You're thinking of Medium- the show the plot of every episode is:

1) The wife dreams something
2) She tells her cop friends
3) The don't believe her
4) She's right in the end

Also, if I were the husband, I would have beat the living snot out of her by now for waking me up every night with a stupid dream.

I'm waiting for the Sequel Large and Prequel Small before watching Medium. It will make more sense that way.

I'd watch a lame ass sitcom about a talking car before I watch any reality TV.
