Does it seem to be just the overclocked versions of the 7800GT that are showing artifacts? Anyone running a reference-non-overclocked board? Any noticeable artifacts? If OC is the problem, the few extra frames arnt worth the trouble.

Any ideas how i can do a poll of who has a 7800gt, what Brand/Model and artifacts or no? How bout just listing it here...

Brand:
Model:
Core clock:
Memory Clock:

Artifacts: Yes or No

I guess I am getting artifacts in BFV (plays DOOM3 really well). Stray POLYS all over the freak'n place. I'm not OC'ing the video card and haven't yet. The EVGA message board has posts regarding this and EVGA has issued 2 BIOS updates trying to correct this issue. I have not tried either of the newer BIOS.

Are you running a 7800GT or the ATI X800XT PE? Doesnt sound good either way.

Just updated my profile...running a 7800GT. Since DOOM3 looks great and fast...I really don't think it's the card (at least not "physically"). I think it's a driver issue though or a settings issue. I've only had my new PC running for 1 week. I'm just now starting to install games on the new PC. I'll be installing Far Cry, BF1942 and NFS Underground this week. Plus a CRAP load of other games compliments of Circuit City and their $10 clearance sale over the summer:). I hope this issue is isolated to BFV.

I have slight artifacts after a long time of playing BF2.

Chaintech AE78GT, OC'd --> 450/1.1

Erroneous visual glitches, usually splotches of rainbow colors at random points on the screen.

Usually caused by overheating and/or overclocking.

I know what you're referring to because I have done OCing on my old cards for 3D Mark, andI know what to look for as a limit.

However, this is what I Get with my 7800GT OC (425/525):

Uhhh I boot up into this sometimes. A restart or two may clear it but sometimes it takes MANY restarts. Notice hte cursor is fine. BIOS and Win XP splash screen are fine.... Weird huh?

Absolutely 0 artifacts in 3D as long as Windows boots up and looks normally.

BTW, I have a BFG 7800GT OC. I've OCed it for less than a day (470/600) for 3D Mark and I dropped it down since. I'm using 78.01 (used 77.77 for a month) and I have a VF700 cooler keeping it under 45 deg idle and just around 60 for load. I don't evne game that much....

Is it like these jagged edged lines that go accross the screen after you start playing. Like triangles sorta that keep on appearing and dissapearing and gets faster as the videocard gets hotter?
