I used Crucial PC 2100 DDR RAM on Asus A7M motherbord. I installed 2 256 MB DIMM and only one 256 MB appeard on BIOS not 512 MB. I swapped the memory to make sure both memory were fine.

I wondered if someone has similar problem? Is there any issue with this board, or simply it is compatibility issue betwwn crucial and Asus?

Any comments will be appreciated!

Uh-oh...make sure you have those things pushed in all the way. Also, move the 1 working DIMM into both RAM banks. If you can get the mobo to recognize RAM working in either bank, then chances are you have a bad DIMM (which I've never heard of if you bought directly through Crucial).

Very early versions of the bios supposedly had trouble detecting two dimms. Perhaps you should try flashing to 1004A? Another point is that the dimms must be seated very firmly in order to fully engage and be detected. Try pushing the center gently but firmly to ensure that each dimm is fixed in -- be careful while doing this. There are other A7M266 users on this board who may have other recommendations, though I've heard nothing bad about detection issues and crucial memory.
