Only Black Images with Umax Astra 2100U

I've tried two different computers, and tried all different software. I've cleaned the inside and outside glass of the scanner. When I try to scan images all I get is pure black...

Any thoughts?

I had this same problem, when I was trying to scan just using TWAIN32 drives for Win2k. Probally needs some UMAX written drivers or something. I just gave up and got a new scanner.
