Only a strike can stop the hottest (and BEST!) team in baseball . . .

The D-backs are 31-9 since the All-Star Break and are 8 games up on the Dodgers in the NL West, which was supposed to be the tighest race in the majors . . . oops.

Don't strike, boys! All your Yanks are belong to us!

So are the Oakland Athletics. They just won 10 straight games, all by their starters. And with today's 9-1 win over the Tigers, the A's are alone at 1st in the AL West!

Better not strike, the AL West and both Wild Card races are going to be very tight. Plus I want my Jermaine Dye Bobblehead on Sept. 1. :)

Oakland has 4 bobbleheads this year, what about the rest of the teams?

April 27: Tim Hudson
May 25: Eric CHavez
July 7: Catfish Hunter
September 1: Jermaine Dye

I grew up and Yankees fan... I'll die a Yankees fan. Oh, and mebbe if you don't get your bobbleheads, you can beat Selig with them.
D-backs... need more greenbacks... LOL

I'm a Mariners fan (even through all the bad times) but I like the D-back better than the Yankees anyday :p

Actually, the D-backs are in great financial shape.

MLB Debts

I'd be worried if I followed the Brewers (170 million in debt), Phillies (125), Baltimore (115) or Cleveland (70). The Backs are tops in the league in attendance, and will receive their TV revenue share this season for the first time in their history. Financially, all is roses, for Arizona, at least.

And hey, every dynasty starts somewhere. If the Yankees can make it back to the WS, we shall see, won't we?

Oakland Athletics: 11 straight!!! Hope Harang makes it a dozen tomorrow.

Arizona D'Backs: Shutout 4-0 by Matt Clement and the Cubs. But Ratface will be on the mound Sunday, so they'll be on the winning side of a shutout with 12K's, hehe.

see my post right above this one:

oakland won their 12th straight: harang didn't do it though, they had to come back from 2-7 to win 10-7.

what did i say about arizona? randy johnson did better than i expected: 16K's instead of the 12 i predicted, haha.

"Ratface", as you call him as 10 times the shot of getting into the HoF as guys like Mulder. And the Snakes now officially have the best record in baseball. :D

you know a team has gotten too good when the local news talks about them breaking their huge losing streak, which was at a whopping 3 games. But hey, I guess it's ok since it let someone else take over the title of best team in baseball for a little. Don't worry though, the Braves will make a and win a world series again. 11 straight post seasons and only 1 World Series would really annoy me. Damn Braves need to capitalize on the fact that their better than everyone else, instead of playing their worst games of the year during the post season.

You mean Chokelanta? Pleaaaaaaaaaase. If there is a W.S., it'll be St. Louis or Arizona from N.L. Oakland or New York from the A.L.
