only 533mhz recognised out of 1066mhz

i have a intel core 2 duo e6400 processer but when i go into the bios under processer it says 533mhz where it should be 1066mhz. i looked on intels site but couldnt find any drivers to download.

the motherboard supports 1066mhz, its an asus P5V-VM DH motherboard

please help me here i want to get the most out of my cpu

The memory should be running at 533Mhz, but the bus should be at 1066.

If the bus is running at 533Mhz, then your E6400 woould be running at 1.066Ghz. If that is true, the go to the BIOs and set FSB to 266 (quad pumped its 1066) to get it up to 2.13Ghz. If the CPU is at 2.13Ghz as it is, nothing is wrong with it.
 
The P4 and Core2 bus is quad-pumped. I don't see any reason a mainboard would display anything besides either the final bus speed, or the base clock speed.

CPU-Z and others can confirm for you exactly what speed the bus is running at for sure.

Drivers of course can't fix this, since drivers don't load in the BIOS. A mainboard BIOS update might make a difference.

also i have another problem

the motherboard says it supports usb 2.0 but when i plug in a device it says it can preform faster if plugged into a usb 2.0 slot. the usb slots on the motherboard are fine bu the ones that are plugged into the motherboard that lead to the front of the case are 1.1

are there any settings etc that i can use to change them to 2.0 because it supports it

Seems like perhaps you had a BIOS version that didn't support Conroe, so it was defaulting to the lowest possible settings. I didn't think mainboards even HAD settings that low.

As far as making sure it's working alright, just run the usual benchmarks to check for stability. Run 3DMark in a loop. Run Prime95's torture test set to the "maximum heat" option (set the first session to affinity for CPU0, run two sessions using the -A1 command line switch for the second one so that it will open a second process stuck on CPU1 so that it exercises both cores). Run Memtest86+ for several hours to let it pass through several complete runs.
