I was interested in WW2 Online but don't want to pay a monthly fee for a game. Does anybody know of a game coming out in the near future like WW2 Online but where you don't have to pay a monthly fee?

It's having problems right now but it should be completely awesome in a couple of weeks once they make the game as it was supposed to be from launch :).

I just don't see why people pay every month to play. You can just go get CS or Tribes2 and play for free:)

What!? we're going to have to pay a monthly fee for WWII online? No free servers like CS/QIII??? That sucks! I thought it'd be like CS/QIII and there would always be servers running it.:(

Ehhhhh what hole have you been living in? This is literally world war ii online... it has everything, EVERYTHING in it. Realistic ballistics, kickass flight model, 10k+ people at ONCE, hundreds on screen at a time (others can be around say to your left and if you look you'll obviously be able to see them), the normal crap FPS games dont even come close!

<< THIS IS A MMOLG, not a standard cheat-filled unrealistic 10-player slugfest with no realism.... >>

Just because you pay $10 a month doesn't make it a perfect game. Just because you pay $10 a month doesn't mean that it will stay cheat free.

Yeah, you have PERSISTENT CHARACTERS. You don't just show-up as a new guy everytime you die. You build skils/ranks and the whole 9 yards..

WWII Online had potential, untill their servers died and they rushed the release full w/ bugs.

What happens when you die? If somebody could post a review or something I would like that. I would like to learn the ins and outs of this game.

Actually, it means the devs care about keeping it cheat-free... since if it gets cheatriddled people will quit and they no longer make money.

I'm already having more fun with it in its current sorry state than I did in two years of EverSh1t... (EQ).

Go to gamespot.com, gamespy.com, ign.com, etc. and do searches. They explain and have interviews from before release. Also, check out hq.wwiionline.com (a fan site that's been around for ~2 years).

As much as I would like a game like that...there is no way in hell you'll see me pay a fee to play. That's what pisses me off about Warbirds to...same company

It's crap. Fees suck.

I don't see how this game can work very well... too many odd things that people can and will do.

Like what happens when the pilot of a plane decides to quit? Or the pilot of any craft/vehicle? It just drops to the ground and everybody dies? Or what if a commander drops? And what about getting people to follow orders? People cant follow battle plans in 20 person games of CS or DOD, how exactly do they expect 100+ people to all do as they were assigned? What is stopping a couple people from posting what one side is doing on the internet and completley destroying the entire game?

Too many questions. Why the hell there wasn't an open beta first is completeley beyond me. I would love to play this game and even pay $10 a month for it, but I'm not risking $40 to find out is sucks ass.

Yep. I just don't see why people would pay mothly. Maybe if the game was free and the mothly fee was $5, maybe. But $40 then an extra $10 a month, no way.

Actually, it should be:

WWII Online has TONS of potential, but it won't fulfill it until their servers are merged as originally planned and they had to rush the release w/ some bugs and framerate issues because their publisher told them they were going to pull the plug and CRS was almost out of money and they had already delayed 2 years off of venture capitalists' money and were bankrupted and had to release the game right then in order to keep the chance alive.

If it's good, I'll buy into it.

I've played the hell out of Asheron's call, and am looking for new challenges.

If you play it for more than 20 hours a month, it is worth the 10$ a month.

Hell, Anarchy online will be 13.95$ a month! That's a little more pricey.

You get what you pay for I guess.

Those of you playing, describe it a little from your point of view. I'd trust someone here more than a review in a mag.

~Thanks.
