Online transaction question

Hey htere!

I posted an advertisement to sell a ticket on an online forum. A person has agreed to buy it. I have a few questions since I haven't done online transactions before:

1) WHats the best way of payment? I'm thinking paypal but not sure how paypal works. I have "Added a credit card" to my paypal account so if the person sends me money via paypal, will it get directly credited to my credit card or do I need bank account info stored?

2) I would prefer to ask him to send the money first before I give the ticket. is this fair? If not, how does it typically work?

Well its a pretty informal transaction so its not like I am bound to sell it to him ( although I would like to.. )

Dont know where he lives.. Waiting to hear from him about his location. Assuming that he lives away, whats the best way to go about it? He offered check,money order or paypal..
 
If you receive a paypal payment you have to transfer it to your linked bank account. It will stay in paypal account until you do.

Beware of scammers, they will use a stolen CC to buy, you send the ticket, paypal reverses the transaction and you are out of money and ticket.

A postal money order(cash at PO) is your safest route, other MO can be fake.
 
Great! Thanks for your replies people! Appreciate it 🙂 . Will ask him to send a money order if he is not near me before I send the ticket over to him.
 
You might want to take the money order to the post office & verify its legit before you mail out the ticket as well ... I'm not sure but they might be able to cash it for you too.
