Browsing through the forums, I've noticed a lot discounted items listed in the Hot Deals forum as well as various other locations that come from places like Directron.com and Outpost.com. My question is this--are these sites just all purpose vendors, or do they work especially in overstocked or refurbished items which they are able to sell extremely discounted? Also, are there any sites similar to these in nature; and, do you have any reccomendations for a price-searching service such as AnandTech's Real-Time Pricing?

directron and outpost seem to sell most everything, not just one particular type of item.

I use froogle (google's price engine) for price searching.

Directron is a general seller with a broad inventory. They deal with a lot of suppliers and are known to move inventory, so they get a lot of deals offered to them.

I often check Pricewatch to get ideas on availability and price range. I often see special Pricewatch deals and even make an offer deals there. You can also see vender reviews on the site.
