Online RPG online game for Console?

Do they now or will they ever have a online RPG like EQ or WOW. I only ask this because I have a PS3. XBOX 360 and a WII. I like COD 4 on the XBOX .

I really miss doing things like playing my Enchanter in Everquest in groups was real fun to keep the mobs mezzed, De-buffing them and buffing group members, but it got old later on in EQ to to long to get in groups and get a raid going.

Thankfully there are very few. FFXI and PSO are all I can think of.

LOl that's to bad, it is a lot of fun being in a good group and going deep into a dungeon killing Boss mobs that are very hard to kill and then getting good rewards for it.

consoles have yet to break into the mmo genre. pc has a stranglehold on them right now but i think it will change this gen or definitely next gen of consoles.

FFXI is what you're describing, really. It's reasonably playable without a mouse on the 360 (probably moreso if you've got the chatpad add-on).

SOE makes EverQuest Online Adventures. It is for the PS2, but I imagine that the PS3 will run it (the 20gb or the 60gb at least). Unfortunately, I have heard that is very dumbed down.

There are also several pseudo online RPGs that can be played via a web browser, not sure if the PS3's browser will work with them as they probably require the latest version of Flash (and the flash on my PS3's web browser only seems to work with Flash based advertisements when I am actually able to get past the "do you want to run the plugin?" pop-ups).

I doubt Blizzard will make a World of Warcraft for any console since they made WoW run on just about any PC that might be around the average person's house, even the generic Wal-Mart special. On the plus side, most MMORPGs for the foreseeable future will likely be WoW clones to cash in on one of the most successful (if not the most successful) games in history, so another developer may make something resembling WoW for consoles.

yea I saw my son playing EQ on the PS2 years agao and he also played FF a long time ago. EQ on the PS3 would be hard to find Groups in probably now. Not sure about FFXI.

FFXI is the only one worth mentioning. It's getting a bit long in the tooth, but still has a bunch of players and is still updated continually.

Fable 2 and Too Human will be out on the 360 this summer/fall - they have 2-player co-op, which is probably as good as you're going to get on a console this generation.
