I recently bought a new LCD, and in the process of doing the research, I learned something I didn't know. The article I read said that after LCD panels are manufactured, they are sorted into 3 catagories. The best panels go into the "Professional Series" LCDs, the next best into the mid-range LCDs and the lesser panels into the "value" LCDs. This being the case, if you buy a "Pro" line LCD, it is unlikely that it will have bad pixeles.
I don't have a link to where I found this information, but maybe someone with knowledge of the LCD manufacturing process could expand on this.
Forgot to mention that I bought a "Professional Series" LCD and it had no bad pixeles.
