This thread made me think of where I got my first complete system.

There was this company that had a 30-60 minute infomercial touting their great package with a printer, software, AOC 17" monitor, scanner, and I think it was Pentium 3 400 Mhz computer with 512 MB PC 100 RAM.

They became over whelmed with responses and you would typically be on hold for 1-2 or even 3 hours.

I had two credit cards that I placed the order on.

This system was about $1200 or $1500.

So there I am enjoying my first computer system (aside as a child with the Commodore 64) about 4 months later I get a call from them asking about paying the rest of my balance.
I told the guy I paid on two credit cards way back then. I was now maxed on both cards and never looked at the charges.

It turns out they never charged one card. I paid about $850 for the system.

This company went out of business within a year. I remember looking up on the web / BBB online about them wondering what happened to them. It turns out they had poor financial keeping, etc.

Other than that I use NE, ZZF...basically what ever is reliable and cheapest.
I like Monarch when they have free shipping coupled with no tax to CA.

I bought my SI-97 from Sidewinder.

www.TankGuys.biz !

Superb US-based store that also ships to Canada.

Awesome customer service/support during the ordering process, & will usually order in most hardware items.

I'm surpirsed no one's mentioned them, since Ben posts here under the TankGuys name.
