online poker, do you?

I was just wondering how many of you guys (or gals) play online poker.

I've been doing it myself for a little while now, it's like a part-time job though, but I still have fun doing it.

What are your favorite sites and why? Hows the payout? Does anyone else do it more as a part-time job than for fun?

My favorite poker site is probably http://www.arcticpokerclub.com - I don't win an abnormal amount or anything like that, but they don't make you wait to cash out. All the really big names out there make you play an enormous amount of hands before you cash out. With this one I can deposit $50, get a 100% bonus, and withdraw the whole $100 if I wanted.

I'd like to find more like this if anyone is willing to share 🙂

how could that be possible? Their is probably some clause which states you cannot withdraw the bonus.

I prefer to play for real money in person. I do play for fun online. I play on Full Tilt mainly because they have a Mac client and they offer Razz.

You have to play a TON of raked hands before you can withdraw the bonus. Enough that they will have made well over $50 off of you.

This is like yesterday.....

Partypoker, been there... Bodog, been there.. .Pacific, been there.

I haven't played in about 3 months (last time was just for kicks anyways), an dI haven't REALLY played online in about a year.

Pokerroom

I use to play 2-3hrs a night for weeks on end. I play a bit now and again now a days. I prefer to keep it like this.

I did play at gutshot last Sunday though. £30 + £3 tournament with 128people and I ended 43. Not bad but I was playing a lot more aggressive at the end as I needed to get the hell out of there. Had to catch the last train and nearly missed it! Apprently gutshot is the biggest poker club in the whole of Europe with over 20k members.

Played on the money table also. A lot of fun.

Last week at pokerroom I made $56 playing $25 money tables. A bit of fun.

I prefer to play with real people and dealing the cards out.

Normally the bonus has an attached clause to it. Usually its something like you have to play a certain number of raked hands before you can withdrawl it. The "rake" is the percentage that the poker room takes out of each hand for their own profit. After a certain number of raked hands, they would make back that $50 bonus, then you can withdrawl it with no loss to them.

I've tried it. The problem is online you don't get much of an edge even if you are very good when playing on cash tables. If you're the best player on the table, after the rake you might expect to get a little something out of it, but it's mostly hit and miss.

If you're playing it for fun it can be interesting, but if you're playing for the financial aspect of the game, your return would be greater with less repetitive work through wise stock investments.

In my opinion, unless you are either a bored billionare or playing it since childhood, you shouldn't indulge yourself in such activities. You will most certainly lose everything you've got, or, if you get really unlucky, even more than you have.

I've been playing on Party for nearly two years. Been making about $750/hr for the past month. I'd be happy to respond to any questions if you PM me.

been playing 5$ SnG's on ultimate bet for about a year now. Up around 120$. if you look at it as a game or a hobby and not as a source of income it's hard to get in financial trouble.

My brother-in-law does quite a bit...he won an entry into the World Series of Poker and just made it past the first round. Not my bag though.

Are you MT 100/200 limit?

Unfortunately there are people who would lure unsuspecting victims to their webs. Don't buy guides! Don't start playing! Participate in the lottery if you must but don't spend your money on such games like poker.

Anybody with a little patience, reading, practice and some basic algebra can become a decent (break-even) poker player. If nothing else, your chances of winning at poker are significantly greater than winning the lottery.

party poker about once a month..

very low limits.

over the past year prolly profit like $400

only pokerstars play money. so, not really. but it's good practice for live games if you play in the Sit N Go tourneys where there aren't as many All-In monsters.
