Online Photo Service Question

I realize this is a tech question, but it didn't seem to fit in any of the other forums, so here goes...

Anyone know if any of the online photo services will take your film and allow you to download full res digital pics after you pay to have it developed? I've got all my pics in Kodak's Gallery right now, and of course, I have the originals of any digital pics I've taken, but I've also sent in quite a few rolls, and I don't see any way to get full res pictures of the ones they've developed and put into my gallery for me. Ideas? TIA!

Highly unlikely that many if any online services will scan your pics or negatives, then dl you full res pics; way too much involved. A true hi res scan of 35mm negative will result in approximately 25 mb. Your best bet is finding local photo shop that will do the work for you.

a second alternative, find one of the nikon 4500 digital cameras (older model). there is an attachment that will thread onto the front of the camera, and allow you to take 4 mb copy of negatives or slides; software pkg included with camera allows you to reverse color the negatives, giving you true pics. I have this set up and use it to help catalog and preserve 35mm archive. For 90% of your work this will suffice.

Cool. I appreciate the feedback. I may try that with the camera, because they do send me my negatives back after developing the film. I figured someone might give a method to download them back since they're getting them digital to put them in my online catalog anyway. I do see now where they have a "premier" subscription service that supposedly allows you to upload/download unlimited full res pics from your gallery, so I might try that too. At $25 bucks a year, it's probably cheaper than the camera thing.
