I wanna program a little in PHP and thought if it would be worth it to make a Image gallery application in php. I just bought a Powershot G3 so that would be kinda nifty.

What do you all think?

Thanks for the input.

Unless you can write something better than Gallery (or the impending Gallery 2), I wouldn't bother. There isn't the need, persay, for a new one, though it might be a fun challenge anyway. :D

How does Rob's compare to Adul's, bzzzddd and notfred's?

What are the main pro's and con's of each?

I'd say they are all great for different purposes. A lot of people use mine as a gallery rather than just image hosting...the organization is great in Gallery. For example, see how I have about 400+ pictures, but in several galleries to organize them?

Of course, I don't have the bragging rights that I coded my own software. I hacked the CSS and added in some software options (auto registration, etc.), but I didn't actually code it myself. Also, IIRC, notfred's service allows for more file types - like mp3s and the like. Mine is limited to image types (gif/png/jpg/etc.) and movies (avi).
