I've got netflixs and I watch the movies online sometimes. But I need to format and want to backup or keep the DRM netflixs thing, where does netflixs store the DRM for viewing online movies at?

you can't legitimately "backup" something that you are supposed to watch streaming/online

this sounds like a thinly veiled pirating attempt

maybe, but there is some file or registry entry that netflix uses to control what systems can view streaming video

No its got nothing to do with pirating. I format my laptops hard drive everytime a new set of ati drivers come out. And the last time I did it, the netflix's viewer wouldn't work because it said I used my drm license already. I watch alot of movies online with netflix, but I don't want to lose my DRm thing when I format tomorrow to install the new 8.3 drivers.

Darn, there's got to be a better way to go than this. Is it really necessary to start over every time the ati drivers are update??

I guess I have OCD :) but I like to format each time yes. It only takes about an hour to get everything installed again. I just wish I could figure out how to save my DRM for netflixs. Maybe I'll call them tomorrow...

Instead of reformatting each time, just reformat once, then install netflix and then backup the System State before installing ati drivers, and restore that System State backup when you want to install new video drivers.

actually, you don't need to modify any registry stuff.
i found this last night because i tried to watch movies and it kept crashing IE. i'd uninstall and reinstall the viewer and it would keep crashing. I had reinstalled windows a few times and i remembered someone posting about them using drm.

in your install folder for the viewer, there is a DRMRESET.EXE file or something like that. just run it and it will reset it
