Itunes and Walmart are the two biggest. Itunes has a bigger selection, Walmart is lower in price (88cents vs 99cents per son). Although I looked for several songs on both services and couldn't find them on either...

But does Itunes let you transfer your music songs to your regular MP3 player or only IPOD.
let me check Walmart.

There is also MusicMatch and the legalized Napster. MusicMatch downloads into a windows media file. I am not sure what Napster uses.

Walmart censors tunage, so I wouldn't mess around with that crap to save a few cents. You could always enter into the legal grey area that is allofmp3.com.....

That's the problem with online music services. They can't really match the selection of local music stores. Case in point: I could not find the soundtrack to Kill Bill on either Walmart or Itunes after an exhaustive search. And, I wanted to download the song The Kiss from the Last of Mohicans soundtrack, and couldn't find that either. These are both popular movie soundtracks, so I can't figure why they don't hav them. It kind of sucks because I don't like buying cds, even used, just to get one or two songs. Guess online music still has a way to go to being a better alternative than cds.

It isn't the online music stores' faults that they fall short of having everything. Some bands or lables will just not let them sell their songs in that manor because it will equate to a lot less revenue since you are not forced to pay for the whole album.

Well its the first year that music downloading legally has started. And i have read online how certain bands dont want there stuff sold online like "Metallica" which happens to have started the law suit against napster back in the day.

I looked in stores for the CD i wanted but didnt have it at Bestbuy hopefully used stored. Its old CD Soundtrack from the movie Stargate back in 1994.
