online midterm assessment

This course was a breeze. Every week, I was able to answer the questions, participate in the forums, etc. with no problems. This week, we have a midterm exam. WOW, these questions are difficult! I've never seen such an emphasis in a text book for stating what should be common sense using as many terms as possible. "A stage-sequential dynamic latent variable exhibiting cumulative monotonic development."

I'm not sure what that means. But the diagram next to it looks like "you learn more and more complicated things every year."

A stage-sequential dynamic latent variable exhibiting cumulative monotonic development
you learn more and more complicated things every year

That's about right, except for the "you" part. Basicly, a variable that always and forver increases, or always and forver decreases in a consistant manor.

A consistent manor? What is that...an "unchanging abode"? 😛

I don't know why, but that made me laugh my ass off. I take my hat off to you Sir.

I have never in my life read a chapter in a text that involved turning the page and saying "wtf is that" to nearly every diagram. There's a Dilbert cartoon where the economist draws a huge conglomeration of seemingly unrelated symbols with arrows everywhere. The non-fictional diagrams in my text, unfortunately, are more complicated and seem even more random.

It's an education/psychology class. Ever get the feeling that your "psych" class is really a psych experiment to test your reaction to some sort of situation?

did you ever get that farm?

Grrrrr. No.
Financing difficulties.
House plus barn plus other buildings plus land appraised for well over 100K.
Our mortgage was for 72K.

Unfortunately, all of the banks we (the broker) dealt with only work with the house and 5 acres for the appraisal. Apparently rural property with a lot of land is rather difficult to get a mortgage on. The bank holding the property got tired of waiting for us to close (we were past the date we were supposed to close by) and decided to take an offer from a buyer who was paying cash.

We're VERY bummed out about it.

yep, that's the one. Too bad my scanner isn't working. The diagrams in my text are worse, yet describe nothing coherent. Anyway, I decided to bs my answer. (I think I may be correct though). I'm done with that exam. One more 4 question exam to go.

For this one, "there are no wrong answers, just unsupported answers." Blah.. I'm 3/4 done with it, but hate the questions.
