damn blue nile is expensive. I purchased a VVS1 round cut, H color 1.58 carat diamond solitaire for $4500 including ring and baguets. They are selling the same, but G color for $16,748. Looks like I got a nice deal. :D

Um... black market diamond? Silicon carbide (moissanite)? Does it have a GIA or AGS certification? Any certification at all?

My reading and looking around suggests that Blue Nile can't be beat as far as diamond prices are concerned. That and the Blue Nile stock is huge.

No, not black market, from a reputable dealer. I took a diamond expert to check it out with me, everything is legit. Doesn't have GIA certification because they would have had to send it to Bombay for that, and it costs extra. But its legit.

yeah, Bombay has long been considered the place to get high quality diamonds.

Sounds like a $4,500 moissanite. :p

No, I wasn't questioning the dealer as much as the diamond. DeBeers would never, never, never, never have allowed what you're saying you paid for that rock.

Never.

They're probably listening in on us right now, and they've contracted teams to come and kill us of all for discussing it and to take out every diamond dealer in Bombay while they're at it.

Never.

To the OP: To summarize, that's a few votes for Blue Nile and one for "a reputable dealer"... in Bombay... where you bring your own dimond expert. :p Cash only, I'm sure.

Oh, and I have a reusable reference code (discount code) that Blue Nile sent me that will work on wedding bands (I tried it on engagement rings, and it didn't work).

They'll mail it to you if you ask them to send you a free ring sizer, but I can save you the time if you PM me.

The code is to:
Save $25 on each band over $250
Save $50 on each band over $500
Save $100 on each band over $1000
