helpful info on opening port forwarding at Port Forward

i have no idea what that site is about . i know very minimum about networking

if youd take 2 minutes to read the damn thing you *would* know and youd most likely have the answer to your problem, which would allow people to get on your game server.

see the first sentence there? " Port Forwarding - Generally forwarding is done so the outside world can connect to some type of server that is located behind your router/firewall."

if you had been able to even make it THAT FAR youd know what you were looking at.

true story...if you can even help yourself, how are we supposed to?

read this
go here and select and router and game

if it doesnt list your game, either reply with the games you are trying to create servers for or look them up on the manufac site.

come on, dont tell a blind man to walk out to the traffic without any assistance. atleast give a little info as to why people can't join my games, whats causing it and what do i need to reconfigure with my router. i will go thought the site again.

You need to open the correct ports on your router for the server. That will allow people to connect to it. If you read the pages linked above, you can see what we mean, and how to properly do it with your router.

The people joining your games making incoming requests and by default routers and other firewalls block them. What you need to do is open the port (it's different for every game) and forward it to the appropriate computer or console. If forwarding on your PC, you need to make sure you also open the port in your PC firewall.

Also, think of it this way. You have multiple computers behind your router, the router needs to know which computer to pass that request to. Hence port forwarding.

Well, if you would just do a simple google search, you could find your answer in 5 minutes. You can't expect someone here to hold your hand and tell you exactly how to cross your street if they do not know, what street you are on, where you want to go, how fast you can walk, and what kind of damn shoes you are wearing.

www.google.com "How to host an online game" "port forwarding for hosting games" "www.myroutermanufacturerwebsiteinstructions.com" www.mygamedeveloperwebsight.com/hostingmultiplayerports.

Then you can come here and ask a better question like.... "I am trying to host a game called "kickme in the butt 3" on my PS3. I have Gofast cable internet with a Linkup cable modem and a Dbunk 4 port wifi router. I have googled and figured out I need to fwd some ports in my router to my PS3, I just don't know which ports I need. I also have looked online and found out where to open ports on my router, so I just need to know which ports "kickme in the butt 3" uses.
